IPL 2024 Auction: Mitchell Starc to KKR, Cummins to SRH Squads of all ten IPL teams following the end of a successful 2024 IPL auction: The IPL fever is on and a successful auction of the 17th season of the Indian Premier League took place today at the Coco-Cola Arena in Dubai.
This was also the 1st time that the IPL auction took place outside India and this was the 1st time that the auction was held with a live audience. Mallika Sagar was the auctioneer this time around and became the 1st ever female auctioneer in the history of the IPL.
A total of 333 players had enrolled for the auction but only 77 slots were up for grabs and the IPL Franchises have spent a lot of money on high-profile names of cricket.
Mitchell Starc who is making a comeback to the Indian premier league after 8 years became the most expensive player in the history of the IPL as he was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders at a whooping 24.75 crore rupees.
Other Top buys of the auction include the likes of Pat Cummins who was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for a massive amount of 20.5 crore rupees, Chennai Super Kings splashed 14 crore rupees on Daryl Mitchell in order to make him a part of their roster for IPL 2024.
Harshal Patel was purchased by the Punjab Kings for 11.75 crore rupees, Alzarri Joseph joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for 11.50 crores, and BBL star Spencer Johnson was bought by Gujarat Titans for 10 crore rupees.
World Cup Winner Travis Head is officially a part of the Orange army as Sunrisers Hyderabad spent 6.80 crore rupees to make him a part of their team and West Indies star Rovman Powell joined Rajasthan Royals for 7.40 crore rupees.
Chennai Super Kings splashed 8.40 crore rupees on youngster Sameer Rizvi and it would be interesting to see how the youngster performs in the upcoming season of the IPL.
