IPL 2024: Injured Key Players List & Replacements ahead of Indian Premier League Season 17: The grand stage of the 17th season of IPL 2024 has been set. Devon Conway (Chennai Super Kings): Star opener Devon Conway, who played a key role in CSK’s success last year, was sidelined for eight weeks with a thumb injury last season. As of now, CSK has not announced a replacement for Conway, leaving a significant gap in their batting lineup.

Mathisha Pathirana (Chennai Super Kings): Another blow for CSK has come in the form of Mathisha Pathirana’s hamstring injury, which he suffered during the T20 series against Bangladesh. Pathirana is expected to be out for 3-4 weeks, with discussions ongoing with Sri Lanka Cricket regarding a possible replacement.

Lungi Ngidi (Delhi Capitals): Delhi Capitals are facing the absence of fast bowler Lungi Ngidi, who is nursing a lower back injury sustained during the SA20 match. To fill the void, DC have brought in Jake Fraser-McGurk as Ngidi’s replacement.

Harry Brook (Delhi Capitals): In a disappointing turn of events, Harry Brook has pulled out of IPL 2024 due to personal reasons. DC has not yet finalized Brook’s replacement, leaving a gap in their team that needs to be addressed.

Suryakumar Yadav (Mumbai Indians): Suryakumar Yadav’s availability for Mumbai Indians’ opening matches remains uncertain pending clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). His absence could be a significant loss for MI in the early stages of the tournament.

Dilshan Madushanka (Mumbai Indians): Mumbai Indians will also miss Dilshan Madushanka, who is expected to miss the initial matches due to injury. Kwena Mafaka has been named as Madushanka’s replacement to strengthen MI’s bowling attack.

Jason Behrendorff (Mumbai Indians): Mumbai Indians suffered a major blow when Jason Behrendorff was ruled out of the entire IPL 2024 season due to a foot injury. Luke Wood has been included as a replacement for Behrendorff to strengthen MI’s fast bowling options.

Mohammed Shami (Gujarat Titans): Gujarat Titans will have to make do without the services of Mohammed Shami, who continues his rehabilitation from ankle surgery. Sandeep Warrier has been brought in as Shami’s replacement to strengthen GT’s bowling unit.

Robin Minz (Gujarat Titans): GT’s troubles have increased with Robin Minz unlikely to participate in IPL 2024 after a bike accident. The team management is yet to finalize Minaj’s replacement, leaving a vacancy in their squad.

Famous Krishna (Rajasthan Royals): Rajasthan Royals’ campaign has been dealt a blow with Prasidh Krishna being ruled out of the season due to surgery. RR is actively looking for a replacement to compensate for Krishna’s absence.

Jason Roy (Kolkata Knight Riders): Kolkata Knight Riders will be without the services of Jason Roy, who has opted out of IPL 2024 due to personal reasons. Phil Salt has been included as a replacement for Roy to strengthen KKR’s batting lineup.

Gus Atkinson (Kolkata Knight Riders): KKR have been dealt a blow with Gus Atkinson’s departure due to workload management by the ECB. To make up for this shortcoming, KKR have brought in Dushmantha Chameera to strengthen their fast bowling options.

Mark Wood (Lucknow Super Giants): Lucknow Super Giants will have to play in IPL 2024 without Mark Wood, who was ruled out due to workload management by the ECB. Shamar Joseph has been named as Wood’s replacement to strengthen LSG’s bowling attack.
