CSK CEO after the 2024 IPL Auction: The management team of the Chennai Super Kings always enter the auction with a clear strategy in their mind. CSK prefer to go after only those players which they feel will fulfil their squad requirements and something similar was seen in the 2024 Auction.
CSK bought a total of 6 players at the 2024 IPL Auction which include 3 Indian players and 3 Overseas players & they spent a total of 30.40 crore rupees to buy these 6 players and even after spending such a large amount of money on these players, the CSK management managed to save 1 crore rupees from their auction Purse.

- Daryl Mitchell (New – Zealand) – All Rounder – 14 crore rupees
- Sameer Rizvi (India) – Batsman – 8.40 crore rupees
- Shardul Thakur (India) – All-rounder – 4 crore rupees
- Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh) – Bowler – 2 crore rupees
- Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand) – All-rounder – 1.80 crore rupees
- Avanish Rao Aravelly (India) – Wicketkeeper – 20 lakh rupees
After buying 6 players in the auction, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said, “I think we had a really good auction because we were successful in buying players which we wanted.Like we managed to find replacements for Dwayne Pretorius, Ben Stokes and Kyle Jameson. We were successful in getting all-rounders. We were very lucky to get Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell.”
He further added, “Aside from that, we have Mustafizur as a backup to Matheesha Pathirana, This is exactly what the team’s management desired. That is why we consider ourselves really lucky to have gotten the guys we want.”
“Shardul has rejoined the team. We are thrilled to have him on board. We acquired Shardul for a really good price because we were expecting him to go for a higher price. I am overjoyed that Shardul has returned; he previously played for CSK. He has made significant contributions to India, and I am confident he will continue to do so.” he added.
“The team management had seen Sameer Rizvi doing well in many domestic tournaments, so we felt that he would be a good backup for our batting,” CSK CEO said. We’re fortunate to have him. We were fortunate in acquiring the players required by Thala (Mahendra Singh Dhoni). We are optimistic that our squad will perform admirably with this lineup.”
