IPL 2024 PBKS Squad, Captain, Released Players, Retention list: Punjab Kings had played good cricket in the First half of the IPL 2023, But In the second half, they kept losing the matches and hence failed to qualify for the playoffs. After winning 6 out of 14 games, they finished at 8th position on the points table.
One of the best things for Punjab in this tournament was that they got a good bowling line-up and a good opening batter, Parbhsimran Singh and a reliable Middle-order batsman, Liam Livingstone, who can build partnerships and also took the game with a good run rate.
Arshdeep Singh was the leading wicket-taker for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023, He took 17 wickets in 14 Matches, whereas Skipper Shikhar Dhawan was the leading run-scorer for Punjab In IPL 2023, he made 373 runs in 11 innings.
How Punjab Kings lost their winning Track:
Punjab won four games out of Starting seven matches and they were performing well in the tournament, but when their Skipper, Shikhar Dhawan got injured then Sam Curran led the team, he couldn’t continue the winning Track. Their Team started losing the matches, and After the Comeback of Shikhar himself, They continuously lost the matches and won only two games in the last seven matches.
PBKS have to find a good option:
Middle Orders: Punjab had a good squad in the IPL 2023, and they need to give players some liberty and a few more chances. Then things might come more in their favour, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t. Liam Livingstone is the only good middle-order batter who performed exceptionally well.
Sam Curran was out of form in the first half of the IPL 203, But in the second half, he played some important Knocks. Sikandar Raza, an all-rounder, performed well with Bat, but still, Punjab Kings management gave him only few chances.
Overall, They need to balance the squad by setting layers on their perfect batting Position so things can come out in their favour.

Shikhar Dhawan was the Captain of Punjab Kings Last Season, and he is expected to lead the team in IPL 2024 as well. Sam Curran will be a Vice Captain of the team.
