The TATA IPL 2023 has gotten more interesting post the LSG VS DC Match. Lesser-known faces are taking part and raising their hand up when it matters the most. Kyle Mayers was the hero for LSG yesterday. He struck a beautiful score of 73 runs of 38 balls. He was looking well-set before Axar Patel sent him back. But the top player with the ball was Mark Wood. Earlier in the day, in the first game, PBKS VS KKR, Arshdeep Singh was the star. The game ended in a DLS manner due to rain, but he was the one who flipped the game in favor of PBKS. Here is an in-depth review of the LSG VS DC Game:

LSG VS DC, 1st Innings:

The toss was won by the Delhi Capitals who chose to bowl. But Kyle Mayers ensured that David Warner has instant regret over his decision. He went on an attacking spree immediately. KL Rahul didn’t trouble the scorers as much because he was dismissed for a meager score of 8 runs. But Mayers did not stop. With Hooda to his aid, he was smashing the bowlers. He showed a wide range of shots.

Kyle Mayers LSG VS DC

He hit the spinners on the leg side in the mid-wicket to the square-leg region. He also hit lofted cover drives. They were a treat to watch. He brutally attacked Kuldeep and Axar. But Axar had the last laugh when he dismissed Mayers for 73. But till then, the damage was done. Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran, then chipped in with scores of around the 20s to take the LSG score to 193/6 in 20 overs in the LSG VS DC first innings. Krishanappa Gowtham was bought on as an “Impact Player” to bat on the last ball, which he hit for six! The LSG VS DC game was eventful.

LSG VS DC, 2nd Innings:

The second innings were off to a flying start as well. Prithvi Shaw was looking like he was in the form of his life. He was timing the ball to perfection. It seemed as if Ponting comments about Prithvi’s dream season were true. Warner had taken the back seat. But all the fortunes of the Delhi Capitals turned down in one over of Mark Wood. Wood got the wicket of 3 batters in one over. He sent back Shaw, Marsh, and Sarfaraz.

The wicket of Sarfaraz was very well planned. DC was struggling at 48-3. Rilee Rossouw walked in and calmed things down. But before he could do much damage control and counter the opposition, he was sent back too. From then on the Capitals never settled in. They tried to bat deep but no batter could find their feet. Wood ended up taking five wickets.
