The IPL mega-auction for the 2025 edition of the tournament—the much-anticipated event is scheduled to be held between the 24th and 25th of November in Jeddah. All major ten franchises, including RCB have been in the hunch for the several players in the auction.

One of the most deserving players in the mega-auction would include pace bowling maestro Mitchell Starc. Starc shattered records previously, as he was crowned the costliest-ever IPL player back in the 2024 mini-auction when KKR robbed him for a huge INR 24.75 crore.

As the Australians won the World Cup, where Starc played a major role, being their best-ever World Cup campaigners, he was a huge asset for the Knight Riders during their title clinch, especially with his records during the playoffs. Starc managed 17 wickets with KKR, adding to his tally of 51 IPL wickets.

Punjab Kings

The franchises that have the highest-ever purse a franchise has entered the mega-auction with, a whopping INR 110.5 crore. With only two retentions and having left out even a great pacer like Rabada, the new head coach, Ponting, would be in the hunt for a new paceman.

Owing to his performance last time and his big value, Starc can be a blow to anyone’s purse, and PBKS looking to rebuild a squad from scratch could target Starc, especially with the Australian head in the bidding table.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Will Starc head back to his oldest franchise in the IPL to the Chinnaswamy Stadium? The Challengers have let go of a huge part of their squad and will look to reinforce their squad with the huge INR 83 crore that they have retained in their purse for the mega-auction.

Starc’s huge impact can be helpful for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, while they might look to give a perfect homecoming in the auction.
