RCB will be looking to be in the hunt for several key players like a wicketkeeper-batsman, an opener alongside Kohli, and specialist pace and spin options, of which a key player might seem vital. Phil Salt recently stirred form majorly when the first T20 match against the West Indies saw Salt’s heroic hundred at Barbados.

Salt played several hundred plus valuable innings for England recently, as he would only rate a price higher in the mega-auction for his invaluable contributions to the shortest format of the game.

Top 3 franchises that can target Phil Salt in the mega-auction:

Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Whenever a big player will feature in the mega-auction, the Punjab Kings will emerge as a major option due to their whopping purse and interest in rebuilding an entire squad.

They have retained only two players, leaving all their overseas spots vacant, while the Kings have INR 110.5 crores in the mega-auction and can look to acquire any player even if it costs them a whopping amount.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

The Lucknow Super Giants might also rope in the English wicketkeeper-batsman, who is in fine form and even slayed on his IPL debut with the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Having parted ways with their opening batters KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, the players often seen with the gloves as well, Phil Salt might be a vital addition, especially owing to his fine form.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

The Royal Challengers are clearly looking for a reinforced squad and have also let go of their skipper and opening batsman, Faf du Plessis. Salt instead would be a perfect opening partner alongside Kohli, as his aggressiveness can be a huge benefit to the home side at Chinnaswamy.

Also, a fine gloveman, Phil Salt’s addition to the tally of players into the mega-auction in itself will be a huge decision made.
