He hit 38 sixes, which is the most for him in one season. He also slammed one century and five fifties. As a result, he was awarded the Orange Cap. It was the second instance for him to win the Orange Cap in the IPL, and he became the first Indian to do so. However, Ambati Rayudu, who has been in the news for targeting RCB and Virat Kohli for the past few days, made another insulting statement.
After KKR’s win, Rayudu lauded Shreyas Iyer and his men and took an indirect dig at Virat Kohli. The former CSK star highlighted the importance of a team’s effort in winning trophies and said that individual brilliance like Orange Cap can’t win the title. He said, “Over the years, it is not the orange cap that wins you the titles but contributions like 300 runs each or 400 runs each.”
Notably, RCB edged past Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling win, which helped them qualify for the playoffs. After that game, CSK were eliminated, and their dream of defending the title was shattered. However, RCB lost Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals and got knocked out. After that, Rayudu trolled RCB with a video clip of him and CSK players after winning the fifth title. That didn’t go well with the RCB fans, and they trolled him back. But it seems like Rayudu is still not happy with RCB and taking an indirect dig at them.
