IPL 2024 Final: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 9 wickets in the IPL 2024 Final at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With this, Kolkata Knight Riders registered their third trophy in the Indian Premier League after having a dominating performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chepauk. The IPL 2024 Winner Kolkata Knight Riders played exceptional cricket throughout the tournament which led them to a victory in the final. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) failed to have good runs on the scoreboard while batting first as their batters easily lost their wickets against KKR bowlers. SRH batters failed to judge the wicket of MA Chidambaram Stadium despite they played IPL 2024 Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals on May 24. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers did the same as their batters; they failed to get wickets of KKR batters and they easily chased the Target of 114 runs. A Dominating victory for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2024 Final and they deserve the trophy as KKR played consistent cricket throughout this season whether you talk about batting or bowling. 

Shreyas Iyer perfectly used the bowlers in the Final match in Chepauk which helped them to stop SRH at runs who have one of the best batting units of the IPL 2024. Most Interestingly, The same batting unit of SRH scored 287 runs with the loss of only three wickets against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss in the IPL 2024 Final and they chose to bat first but the decision wasn’t in their favour as they lost three wickets in the powerplay itself. SRH’s key strength in this tournament was their batting department but it failed in the most important match (IPL 2024 Final) as they were able to make 113 runs on the scoreboard.

Both the openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma scored 0(1) and 2(5), respectively. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting collapsed in the IPL 2024 Final as no batters scored more than 20 runs except skipper Pat Cummins, who scored 24 runs in 19 balls. It was the worst performance of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and they made the lowest total (113) in the history of the TATA IPL Final.

Aiden Markam and Heinrich Klaasen scored 20 and 16 runs for their team in the TATA IPL 2024 Final and they were the highest run-scorers for SRH after Pat Cummins. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowlers especially Pacers dominated Sunrisers Hyderabad since the first over of the tournament. 

Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora took two and one wickets, respectively they bowled fantastic spells in the powerplay which led SRH on the back-foot. Andre Russell took three wickets and Harshit Rana got two wickets, both the bowlers did an excellent job in the middle overs as they got crucial wickets. 

In the second inning, Kolkata Knight Riders batters played almost the opposite of SRH, they never seemed under pressure and easily picked the bowlers. Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz were continuously hitting boundaries against SRH Pacers and never led them to make a comeback in the game. Venkatesh Iyer played a match-winning knock of 52 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 Final, he was only dealing with boundaries either four or six.

Afghani batter Rahmatullah Gurbaz also played a superb and responsible innings of 39 runs in 32 balls. Both the batters led Kolkata Knight Riders to win their third IPL Trophy after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 9 wickets in the IPL 2024 Final at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. SRH bowlers performed poorly like their batters in this match.
