Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow got PBKS off to a flying start in the run chase, with a century-opening partnership. However, Mayank Yadav, making his IPL debut, turned the game around with a stunning display of fast bowling.
Yadav consistently touched the 150-kph mark and claimed crucial wickets to derail PBKS’ chase. He dismissed Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma in quick succession, leaving PBKS reeling.
Despite a valiant effort from Liam Livingstone, who scored a quickfire cameo, PBKS fell short of the target. The Lucknow bowlers, led by Yadav and supported by the rest of the attack, kept the pressure on PBKS, restricting them to 178/5 in their 20 overs.
