IPL 2024 RCB Squad, Captain, Released Players, Retention list: Royal Challengers Bangalore, A franchise that had lots of World-Class Players in the Past, like Chris Gayle, AB de Villers, and many more, but still, they couldn’t Won a single Trophy in the IPL.
This Year, RCB looks more sorted and is expected to win the trophy for the first time, but They fails to qualify for the IPL 2023 Playoffs as they lost the do-or-die match against GT on 21st May by six wickets.
RCB’s hunt for the IPL trophy is still going on, and it may get accomplished next year, but they have to fix many problems they faced this year or in the last few years.
Why RCB failed to qualify in IPL 2023 Playoffs:
In IPL 2023, RCB started the season on a positive note, but their batting and bowling got exposed as the tournament progressed. Bangalore’s Whole batting depended on KGF(Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis), and if they got out, then their batting got collapsed hence they usually had low runs on the scoreboard.
The Failure of the Middle-order cost huge to RCB and this is one of the main reasons that they didn’t qualify for the IPL Playoffs. Later in the Tournament, They included Michael Bracewell, but he didn’t perform as expected, whereas Dinesh Karthik had a bad season as he got fours times on duck.
If we Talk about Bowling, they had a good pace attack but didn’t had a good spin bowling option. Although they had Wanindu Hasaranga but to make their squad balanced, they chosen Bracewell instead of Hasaranga to provide depth in batting and he can give a part-time spin bowling option, but this idea was failed.

Things RCB needs to Improve:
Middle orders: Royal Challengers Banglore should invest in good Indian middle orders batters or finishers whom their openers can trust and play freely in the powerplay. CSK has Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni, whereas MI has Tim David, Nehal Wadhera, and Tilak Verma, who can finish the match easily and hit big boundaries. So, they need a proper finisher for their team.
Bowling: Bangalore had good pacers like Mohd. Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, and Harshal Patel but need a better spin options. They have Hasaranga, but they needed an excellent Indian option.
