IPL 2024 Points Table: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 18 runs in the 60th match of TATA IPL 2024 at Eden Gardens Cricket Stadium in Kolkata. After Winning the match against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders has now qualified for the TATA IPL 2024 Playoffs as they are present at the top position in the latest IPL 2024 Points Table with 18 points. KKR have played 12 matches so far in the tournament and out of which, they won nine games and lost only three matches in the IPL 2024.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is playing exceptional cricket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and it is now expected that they will finish at the top position and most possibly, they will play the final as well. However, KKR still needs to focus on middle-order to win the knockout matches comfortably in the IPL 2024.
After a lot of delays, the game was shortened to 16 overs, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batted first but the openers got out early against the MI pacers but later on, Venkatesh Iyer stood at one end and continuously hitting boundaries to build pressure over the MI bowers, he was indeed quite successful.
Venkatesh Iyer scored 42 runs in 21 balls with six fours and 2 sixes whereas Nitish Rana also contributed crucial 33 runs in the last few overs. Therefore, KKR was able to score 157 runs on the scoreboard with the loss of seven wickets. From the MI side, Jasprit Bumrah and Piyush Chawla took two wickets each whereas Nuwan Thushara and Anshul Kamboj took one wicket each.
In the second inning, Mumbai Indians (MI) had a good start as both the openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kisan scored 19 and 40 runs. But, Later on, the wickets kept falling and MI failed to chase the target of 158 runs in 16 overs however Tilak Verma fought well but he was able to score 32 runs only.
From the Kolkata Knight Riders bowling department, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets whereas Sunil Narine got one wicket in this match.

As of now, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are in first and second position in the latest IPL 2024 Points Table with 18 and 16 points, respectively whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has occupied third and fourth position with 14 and 12 points, respectively in the IPL 2024 Points Table.
The Five-times Champions, Mumbai Indians lost another game and now they are in ninth position in the IPL 2024 Points Table with 8 points in 13 matches played so far. However, Punjab Kings is at the bottom position in the points table with eight points.
