An Uncapped Young Player, Dhruv Jurel has been added to the test squad for the first two games against England. Dhruv hasn’t played a single International cricket match for the Indian Team but recently, he performed exceptionally in the India-A Tour of South Africa, which led him to India’s Test side. Dhruv Jurel is the third wicket-keeper in the squad after KL Rahul and KS Bharat.
Mohd. Shami will not be part of the Indian Team in the first two test matches against England as he is still recovering from an ankle injury. Shami wasn’t part of the Indian Team in the test series against South Africa and now, he isn’t available for the England series. Shami’s absence will make some impact in the Indian Pace department but Jasprit Bumrah and Mohd. Siraj will balance it out.
Generally, Prashid Krishna takes the place of Mohd. Shami is in the Indian Team but currently, he is suffering from a left quadriceps injury and will not be available for the five-match test series against England. Therefore, Avesh Khan was added to India’s test squad and chances are very high that he will be in the Playing XI, at least for a few games.
Ishan Kisan wasn’t included in the Test squad, this puts a big question mark over Indian Team Management’s wicket-keeping choices as Ishan wasn’t the part of the T20I series against Afghanistan. Previously, Ishan Kisan took a rest from the two-match test series against South Africa and since then, he is not in any bilateral series.
