IND vs AUS: Indian players Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were supposed to be seen featuring in India’s playing XI for the Boxing Day test, as both of these veterans chase some amazing milestones in the world.

The ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah once again took the new ball at the MCG, though the bowler has been unplayable for the most veteran Aussie batters in this BGT, as he picked 21 scalps to his name. Bumrah was taken for granted by Boxing Day test debutant Sam Konstas.

The Boxing Day test is undoubtedly the decisive test of this BGT and also the probable future of India and Australia’s chances to make it to the WTC final.

Jasprit Bumrah, the leading wicket-taker for India in the island nation with 54 wickets, will head to MCG chasing his milestone of 200 test wickets, as Bumrah is now just 5 wickets away from becoming the 12th Indian bowler to have achieved this feat.

Bumrah picked up his 195th test cricket as he dismissed set Australian opener Usman Khawaja in one of the most unconventional fashions, as Khawaja was too quick to react to a bouncer as the ball came late and hit the bottommost position of Khawaja’s bat, eventually lobbing the ball off to Rahul at short mid-wicket.

Ravindra Jadeja recently parted from his spin partner Ravi Ashwin, as he is about to breach the 600-wicket mark for India in all formats combined. While he is just 6 wickets away from the 600-wicket mark, he gave India the first breakthrough at the MCG with the dismissal of Sam Konstas.

After Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravi Ashwin, Jadeja would be the sixth bowler to have attained this unique feat of having crossed 600 test wickets.

At the time of writing, the MCG test seems to be much in control of the host side, as Australia stands stalled at 208/2 with Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne at the crease at tea.
