Ashutosh made his debut in T20 on January 12, 2018. Now, he is playing for Punjab Kings in TATA IPL 2024, and Ashutosh is performing amazingly. Punjab Kings picked him for 20 lakhs in the auction and this was a good decision taken by Punjab Kings. He made his debut in IPL 2024 against Gujarat Titans and led his team to victory.
Ashutosh Sharma in IPL:
He became more famous when he played against Mumbai Indians and with his explosive batting as he scored 61 runs just in 28 balls. Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah praised his batting. In the same match against Mumbai Indians, his sweep shot six against Jasprit Bumrah caught the attention of everyone. He made his special place in everyone’s hearts with his amazing batting style.
In his debut match against Gujarat Titans, he came as an impact player and made 31 runs with a six and 3 fours in just 17 balls with a strike rate of 182.35 therefore Punjab Kings won the match by 3 wickets. The next match, he played against Sunrisers Hyderabad and performed exceptionally, Ashutosh scored 33 runs with 2 sixes and 3 fours in 15 balls and a strike rate of 220 but Punjab Kings failed to secure their win.
Although, the Punjab Kings lost the match but, Ashutosh Sharma came out as a new star of the Punjab Kings. At Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium, Ashutosh played his next match against Rajasthan Royals and once again he proved himself by hitting 3 sixes and 1 four and with a strike rate of 193.75 he scored 31 runs in 16 balls but here also Punjab Kings had to face loss.
He was playing as an impact player in IPL but Punjab Kings made changes and for the first time he played as a regular player against Mumbai Indians. The changes were seen in the match as Ashutosh scored 61 runs just in 28 balls. Everyone was shocked when he hit the sweep shot on Jasprit Bumrah’s ball.
