IND vs AUS: India is on the verge of their first win in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as it seems quite eminent now with half of the Australian side back into the shed.

After a dominating show on Day 2 and Day 3, India batted throughout these two days and put on a firm lead that surpassed 500 runs, an eminent breakout in the first test after the two teams were bowled out for a minor 254 runs combined in their first inning.

India chose to bat under some difficult circumstances on Day 1, where the Aussie bowlers dominated by bowling them out for just 150 runs; however, the Indian pacers also retaliated with amazing spells, hence bowling out the Aussies for a score of 104.

The tracks at the Optus Stadium changed in no time, as Indian openers batted two entire sessions on Day 2, with Jaiswal and KL Rahul having posed undeniably the best-ever Indian opening total in tests in Australia.

When Jaiswal scored his century at Perth, he joined an elite list of players, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxamn, Virat Kohli, and Virender Sehwag, to have scored a test hundred on their debut tour to Australia.

Even after Jaiswal’s dismissal, King Kohli took the innings further as he scored his much-awaited 30th Test hundred and celebrated it like a king. India having posed a target of 534, Australia trembled to come into bat.

The Aussies were three wickets down in the very last session, with Nathan McSweeney, Pat Cummins, and Marnus Labuschagne being picked by Bumrah as well as Siraj when they shared the new ball.

With successive wickets for Australia, Usman Khawaja was sent back to the pavilion, and Australia seemed in deep trouble with 4 wickets down for a score less than 20 in their innings where they would have to chase a huge target of 534.

Head seemed the only batter whose form compelled some runs on the board for the Australians on their home soil, as Steven Smith, the silent partner in the long partnership, also fell after a brief inning of 17 runs.

Smith and Marsh are currently the batting pair who are scoring a fair amount of runs, with Travis Head still in the crease. Australia still would hope to take the innings further.
