5) Iker Casillas is one of the top players for Real Madrid:

Very often we do not see a goalkeeper on such lists. But the splendid performances of Iker Casillas and his commitment to the club have earned him this position. Iker has been a very good reader of the game. Imagine influencing the game by just standing at the goal! Casillas has done exactly that. His calling and positioning were exceptional and precise every time. Over the years, Casillas has risen through the age-groups squads of Madrid. He was a part of Real Madrid C, and Real Madrid B, and then was drafted into the main squad. He served the club for 17 to 18 long years. Casillas parted ways in 2015 and was picked by FC Porto.

Iker represented the Los Blancos in 510 recorded games. Iker was named the captain of Real Madrid in 2010. He had the likes of Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, and Higuain by his side. Iker managed to win the Champions League 3 times with the men in white. Once in 2000, then in 2002, and then in 2014.

Honorable Mentions:

4) Sergio Ramos is one of the top players for Real Madrid:

Sergio Ramos is one of the most successful leaders of Real Madrid. The back line of Real Madrid was safe and sound for the past 7 to 8 years due to the presence of Ramos along with Pepe and Raphael Varane. A true Real Madrid fan can never forget his last-minute header for the winning goal against Athletico Madrid. Sergio was a strike force. Till he was on the pitch, the teams knew that the game isn’t finished till the last minute.

Ramos has earned the tag of one of the greatest users of a technical foul in the game. The football community may call him one of the most dangerous players but he also has to be one of the smartest players. In the crucial moments when the game looked drifting away from Real, Ramos used to commit these technical fouls to waste time. It at times resulted in yellow or even red cards, but that’s fine as long as Real qualified for the next stage of a championship.

An authoritative figure on the pitch, Ramos was a true champion. He played 469 recorded games for Real.

3) Alfredo Di Stefano:

Alfredo was a forward who graced the Madrid field back in 1953. He played for 11 long years and represented the men in gold and white for 282 recorded games. He scored 216 goals in these games. Scoring at almost a goal per game he had the highest scoring rate in those days. Earlier football was more passing-oriented and the teams played with a defensive mindset. Hence this stat of Alfredo shows us the fact that he was attacking.

He was playing 1990s football back in 1953. He was a player who could foresee and predict the game calculatedly. A great reader of the game he started his journey in South America. His honors for Real Madrid are as follows:

Trophy Won Year
La Liga 1953–54, 1954–55, 1956–57, 1957–58, 1960–61, 1961–62, 1962–63, 1963–64
The General Cup 1962
The European Cup (UCL) 1955–56, 1956–57, 1957–58, 1958–59, 1959–60
Intercontinental Cup 1960
Small Club World Cup 1956
Latin Cup 1955, 1957

2) Zinedine Zidane:

Zizou didn’t play many games for Madrid but is one of the most impactful and amazing players to ever wear the shirt. He joined the team in 2001 and played till 2006. He represented the club in 155 recorded games. He rammed the ball in the back of the net 37 times but that number doesn’t justify his excellence on the field.

Zinedine Zidane ruled the central mid-field in all of Spain for those 5 years. His ball control was elite. He had one of the softest touches in the game. He was a tactical mastermind. His game sense could be understood by the fact that he won UCL for Real Madrid as a manager too. He joined the team in a period of crisis and won them the big titles. His records and honors for Real are as follows:

Trophy Won Year
La Liga 2002-2003
Copa Del Rey —
Spanish Super Cup 2001, 2003
UEFA Champions League 2001-2002
UEFA Super Cup 2002
Intercontinental Cup 2002

1) Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player to play for Real Madrid:

Cristiano needs no introduction! He was the face of the Los Blancos ever since he joined them. He has given the Madridistas several moments to cherish. One can never forget his penalty to seal the UCL, his overhead bicycle kick against Juventus, his insane work ethic, and his skills. When Real Madrid signed Ronaldo in 2009, they made a steal.

Ronaldo began his footballing career in Portugal playing for the biggest local club Sporting. When Sporting Lisbon played an exhibition game against Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson scouted this genius. It wouldn’t be justified if I call him the greatest of all time as Leo Messi equally deserves the tag. But Ronaldo is one of the greatest to ever touch the ball. His Real Madrid journey started in 2009. Since then, the title won by the Portuguese maestro are as follows:

Trophy Won Year
La Liga 2010-2011, 2016-2017
Copa del Rey 2011-2012, 2013-2014
Spanish Super Cup 2012, 2017
UEFA Champions League 2013-2014, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018.
UEFA Super Cup 2014, 2017
FIFA Club World Cup 2014, 2016, 2017

His skill work needs no introduction. The rabbonas, the step-overs, the fake shots, Ronaldo has done them all. Ronaldo made the defenders dance to his tunes for 9 to 10 long years. His fitness was a topic of discussion as he was rarely injured. He took time to maintain his body and stay match-fit for the big games. A responsible individual and a great thinker of the game, Cristiano is the greatest ever to step on the Bernabeu.
