The Indian Cricket team has qualified for WTC Final as New Zealand has managed to beat Sri Lanka in the 1st Test Match of the ongoing test series. The Indian cricket team is currently playing its 4th test match against Australia which is on the verge of a draw. The Australian team is batting slowly and steadily and has shown limited intent to bowl the second time. The New Zealand VS Sri Lanka first test on the other hand was a nail-biter. It was Kane Williamson’s heroic knock that has taken New Zealand to victory. With that being said, India has now qualified for its second WTC Final in a row. Here is an in-depth look:
New Zealand Beat Sri Lanka by 2 wickets as India Qualify for WTC Final:
The 1st Test match of the New Zealand VS Sri Lanka test series was a nail-biter. The game saw one of the greatest of all-time knocks from Kane Williamson. He scored 121 runs from 194 balls to take New Zealand home. Daryl Mitchell was the player of the match as he scored a 100 in the first innings and a well-fought 81 in the second. The last day was marred by rain and it looked like the game would head on to result in a draw. But Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell flipped the game in favor of New Zealand.
The game went down to the wire. It was an edge-of-the-seat thriller. New Zealand just had 2 sessions to chase and they chased it with great effort. The Sri Lankan bowlers were bowling well too. New Zealand required 7 runs in the last over. Williamson hit a boundary. The equation went down to New Zealand requiring 1 run of the last ball of the day. It was a bye and New Zealand reached home!

The cricketing world will get to witness Mitchell Starc take on Virat Kohli, Nathan Lyon take on Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj takes on David Warner, and many more such interesting battles. Defending champions New Zealand have failed to qualify for the finals this time. England did have the potential to qualify and had a great second half of the WTC cycle. But their first half was inferior, leading to them getting knocked out.
