Now, Yashasvi Jaiswal, at the age of 21 years and 196 days, becomes the fifth youngest batter to make 150 runs on his Test debut.

Jaiswal scored 171 runs in 387 balls; the no of balls he faced is the second-highest number by an opener on Test debut, whereas Brendon Kuruppu tops the list; he faced 548 balls on debut.

Rohit and Jaiswal’s partnership broke the record of Virender Sehwag and Sanjay Bangar, who had the records of the highest opening partnership in test cricket against the West Indies.
