The Punjab Kings will take on the Gujarat Titans in the TATA IPL 2023 on Thursday. There is some positive news for the Kings. Their star all-rounder is back and has joined the team. He is available for selection for the game against the Gujarat Titans. Apart from this star all-rounder, their best pacer is also back. Liam Livingstone and Kagiso Rabada are the two players respectively. They are the two assets of the Punjab Kings. The Kings invested a lot of money in these players, but they were missing due to national duty. Here is an in-depth look:

Liam Livingstone joins Punjab Kings for TATA IPL 2023:

Liam Livingstone’s return is a big boost to the Punjab Kings. Livingstone is one of the best T20 players on the planet. He will bring along with him the balance to the team. Sikandar Raza was doing his job earlier and the Punjab Kings were over-reliant on the impact player rule to get this job done. But Liam Livingstone will most of their woes. He is also a great outfielder.

But why was Livingstone out of action in the first place? Liam Livingstone missed the initial few games of the TATA IPL 2023 as the England Cricket Board did not give him the NOC for playing in the IPL. The NOC was not given as he was yet to clear the fitness tests of the England Cricket Board. This was a post-recovery test for an injury he suffered in December.

Liam Livingstone played 14 games last season for the Punjab Kings. He maintained an elite average of 36.82 and had a wonderous strike rate of 180.7. He hit 4 crucial 50s for the Punjabi Munde. Apart from the batting performances he also picked 6 wickets for them. He used to bowl the overs when a partnership used to get formed. He was their “Man with the golden arm”.

Kagiso Rabada joins Punjab Kings for TATA IPL 2023:

Kagiso Rabada will also join the Punjab Kings for the TATA IPL 2023. He was absent from the team as he was on national duty. He was playing for the South African national team against the West Indies. The West Indies tour of South Africa ended a few days ago and Rabada has joined the Punjab Kings squad. He will be available for selection in the game against the Gujarat Titans.

Rabada’s inclusion is crucial as he will have to bowl the death overs alongside Arshdeep Singh. After the return of Rabada, the Punjab Kings have one of the most formidable bowling lineups. They have Arshdeep, Sam Curran, and KG Rabada for the entire TATA IPL 2023. The trio cannot get any better.

Sikandar Raza to Mis Out the Game against Gujarat Titans:

Sikandar Raza will miss out on the TATA IPL 2023 game.

Sikandar Raza is expected to be out of the playing XI for the game against the Gujarat Titans. The Punjab Kings will replace him with Liam Livingstone. That will be a great thing to do as Liam is one of the best T20 players on the globe and the Kings have only 4 overseas slots. They are a like-to-like change as well.
