South Africa has announced the squad for the ODI series against England: South Africa will be looking to rectify their poor performance in the last few matches, which saw them fail to make an appearance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup before going down 0-3 in the Test series down under. Newly appointed red-ball coach Shukri Konrad will oversee the series for the Proteas. He will work in consultation with new white-ball coach Rob Walter, whose tenure will come into effect on February 1, 2023.

Victor Mpitsang, convenor of selectors, said: “The selection panel is particularly enthused by the depth of this squad, with a mix of youth and experience. We are confident that this group of players will lead us to the ICC Men’s World Cup in India later this year. Will take one step closer to qualifying for the cup.

We are also pleased with the inclusion of Sisanda and the commitment he has shown to meet the fitness standards required for national selection”.
