The India VS New Zealand ODI series is going to be a thriller. The first game was just an example of it. Shubman Gill showed us why he is so highly rated, and Michael Bracewell almost won the game for the Kiwis by playing the innings of a lifetime. We can’t predict who will win, but we can guarantee healthy competition. The India VS New Zealand 2nd ODI will be played on January 21, 2023. Here is a quick preview of the game along with the expected squads:

The Indian team will once again rely on its batting powerhouse to give them the much-required powerful starts. The team will be looking to bat first as they want their bowlers to work on the art of defending scores with the dew. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli are in top form. Rohit looks good too but is failing to convert the starts. Mohammed Siraj is the biggest asset with the new ball. Yuzvendra Chahal is being benched because Washington Sundar provides the 6th bowling option.

Indian Squad:

Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Srikar Bharat, Shahbaz Ahmed, Rajat Patidar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umran Malik

Expected Playing XI:

Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj

Michael Bracewell fought like a brave warrior to save the game for the Kiwis. Bracewell was all guns-balzing. This is not the first time that he has shown his skill. In the New Zealand tour of Ireland 2022 too, he played one such knock in the 1st ODI itself. Their part-time bowlers took the wickets of the Indian batters. They might be wanting to bowl first as with the dew coming in, it would be very tough for them to defend a score. Once a bowling powerhouse New Zealand now is devoid of big names like Boult and Southee.

New Zealand Squad:

Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (c & wk), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Henry Shipley, Lockie Ferguson, Blair Tickner, Jacob Duffy, Doug Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Ish Sodhi

Expected Playing XI:

Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (c & wk), Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Henry Shipley, Lockie Ferguson, Blair Tickner

The Venue, Timings, and Broadcasting for India VS New Zealand:

The game will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. The game will begin at 1:30 pm Indian Standard Time. The dew will not play much part as Raipur is relatively less moist. The broadcaster for the India VS New Zealand Series is Star TV Network. Hence the game can be viewed and live-streamed on Hotstar as well.
