ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah reveals that the board is in talks with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift the venue for the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25. As per the reports, BCCI is actively involved in this and we might see a possible change in the WTC 2025 Final venue However, very few details have been shared by the board.
England has been continuously hosting the ICC WTC Final for the last three times, which led other boards to raise issues over the constant venue for such a big tournament with ICC. Before the revelation by Jay Shah, it was pretty expected that the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Final will be held in England.
In the last edition of the ICC WTC Final, India and Australia were the finalists and the match was played at Kennington Oval Cricket Ground in London. However, Australia played a dominating cricket against India and comfortably won the match by a massive 209 runs, it was the second consecutive defeat for the Indian Team in the WTC Final.
As of now, Lord’s Cricket Ground in London is going to host the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Final however, the possibility is very high that we might see a new venue announcement for the WTC Final by ICC.
Where WTC Final 2025 can be held after England?
After the England, India and Australia have the highest chance to host the ICC World Test Championship 2023-2025 Final. However, If there will be any venue change then Australia is likely to host the tournament. The Gabba, MCG and SCG are the possible venues where the final match can be played.
