The Mumbai Indians camp finally has some happy news their way. Their pace sensation arrived all the way from England. Jofra Archer, the pacer known for his express pace and bounce is ready to start his TATA IPL 2023 with the Mumbai Indians. He has landed in India. The Mumbai Indians bought the speedster back in the TATA IPL 2022 Mega Auction in the accelerator with the expectation that he will be a part of the TATA IPL 2023. This has become reality. Jofra Archer Joins the Mumbai Indians Camp for TATA IPL 2023:
Jofra Archer, the speedster from England who missed the TATA IPL 2022 season due to an elbow injury, finally joined the Mumbai Indians. Jofra has finally recovered from the injury and participated in two of England’s white-ball series. He was also an integral part of the SA20 league. He played for MI Cape Town in that tournament. He had a decent tournament as he managed to take 10 wickets in 6 games. He bowled at an average of 17.8. His pace was impressive as he still managed to clock 145 kmph post-surgery.
Jofra arrived in Mumbai a few days back and the convoy of Mumbai Indians took care of his arrival. An official video of his arrival was shared on the official handle of the Mumbai Indians. This showed Jofra Archer sitting relaxed in a comfortable chair.
Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah Duo is Absent:
But the Mumbai Indians’ fans will not get a chance to see the dynamic duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer as Jasprit Bumrah misses out on this season of the TATA IPL as he has undergone back surgery in New Zealand. Bumrah is currently in the rehabilitation process and will take some time to recover. The Mumbai Indians bought Archer in the TATA IPL 2022 Mega Auction. They spent a whopping 8 crores on him. Most of the franchises considered this a “not-so-smart” move. But the Mumbai team is now reaping the fruits of this strategy.
Archer’s current market value is certainly more than 8 crores and getting him for 8 crores is a steal. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Archer will have an added responsibility but he is capable enough to shoulder the same. The absence of Bumrah also creates opportunities for the other Indian fast bowlers. There is a lot of murmur around the name of Mohammed Arshad Khan and Akash Madhwal. This also gives an opportunity for Arjun Tendulkar to showcase his skill.
