Kane Williamson broke the record by scoring the fastest match-winning Test century against South Africa: In world cricket, Kiwi batsman Kane Williamson, full of experience, demonstrated his excellent ability by leading his team New Zealand to victory in the second Test against South Africa in Hamilton.

Chasing a target of 267, Williamson came in at No. 3 and scored 133* with the help of 12 fours and two sixes to lead the Black Caps to a 2-0 whitewash win.

After waiting 92 years for such a momentous occasion, New Zealand’s historic victory against South Africa in men’s Test cricket was their first series triumph ever.

The chase organized by Williamson made it the fourth highest successful chase by the Black Caps in New Zealand and the fifth highest overall.

Williamson scored his 32nd Test century, surpassing Joe Root’s century tally last week, which is now the most among active players. Achieving the feat in 172 innings, he also became the fastest to score 32 Test centuries by innings, surpassing Steve Smith, who had achieved the feat in 174 innings.

Williamson’s fifth century came in the fourth innings of a Test match, equaling the great Younis Khan for most centuries in the final innings. Remarkably, four of his five centuries in the fourth inning have come in successful run-chases, with the latest against South Africa adding to the impressive list.
