The official update is yet to come but it is expected that Jasprit Bumrah, India’s pace sensation has been ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 owing to a stress fracture in his back. Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain during the 1st T20I of the ongoing India VS South Africa series and the BCCI medical team kept him under assessment. Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out of ICC T20 World Cup 2022?
The worst nightmare of the Indian Cricket fans seems to have come true as their beloved fast bowler Japrit Bumrah’s injury seems to have aggravated. Some reports claim that Bumrah has been ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup which is to be held in 20 days. Considering the position of his injury it does seem difficult for Bumrah to get back to firm fitness.
Jasprit faced this injury back when India was touring England. He played exceptionally well in the first ODI and was ruled out of the rest of the series with a back injury. It seems that the injury has increased. It is due to Bumrah’s unique bowling action and because he tries to bend his back to get an extra bounce. With that bowling action, every bowler is generally subjected to injury. He did undergo a fitness camp at the NCA for 7 days but his rehab seems to have failed.
Bumrah is Irreplaceable:
There is only one Jasprit Bumrah in India at the moment. Let us just accept the fact that Jasprit Bumrah is irreplaceable. But having said that it brings an opportunity for young players like Siraj, Arshdeep, and Harshal Patel who are relatively new to the Indian Cricketing circuit. Bumrah bowls well at the death. That responsibility can be shouldered by Harshal and Arshdeep as they have done it previously in the IPL. Bumrah also bowls in the powerplay. That can be taken up by Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. All in all the Indian bowling department has to perform out of its skin and show its true character.
