Amid all the speculations and hype over the teams anticipating their most possible retention list and also looking to target their list of players in the mega-auction, the IPL governing committee after their decision over retention rules has now specified the dates for the mega-auction.
The IPL governing committee of the BCCI has finalized that the auction will most likely be taking place in the last week of November, with 30th November emerging as a possible date preferred by the IPL committee.
The Times of India has reported that Dubai in the United Arab Emirates will most likely be the host nation for the mega-auction. The previous auction in 2024 was also held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
All ten franchises will be participating in the mega-auction while they battle out for the most fierce players in the auction. Every franchise is in the quest for the best combination of players for the next season. The bidding war often sees the most intense competition fought even in an off-field condition.
Every franchise has been issued the deadline for the retentions to be made by every franchise team, as 31st October has been set as the deadline.
Reports suggest RCB is to retain the likes of 3 players ft. Virat Kohli
The Royal Challengers Bangalore and RCB are all set to retain the likes of new players for the upcoming season alongside keeping the likes of veteran Virat Kohli and legendary skipper Faf du Plessis and Mohammad Siraj.
Already speaking of the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are supposed to retain the likes of Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, and the rising superstar Abhishek Sharma. While also the Delhi Capitals have also sparked the likes of Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav to be retained.
They have also brought in the likes of Venugopal Rao and Hemang Badani for the coaching roles in the Delhi Capitals camp. The most well-known franchise, Mumbai Indians, has reportedly claimed to retain the Indian superstars Rohit Sharna, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and lastly Jasprit Bumrah, all being World Cup winners for India.
Now the renowned franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore are likely to retain their most veteran batter, Virat Kohli, for the 17th time in the history of the IPL. Skipper Faf, who recently led the St. Lucia stars to their maiden CPL title, is also set to be retained alongside Mohammad Siraj.
