CATEGORY OF PLAYERS IPL AUCTION 2024

Capped Indian players
Uncapped Indian Players
Foreign or Overseas Players (Non-Indian Players)

As per the IPL Policy: Each IPL franchise is given Rs 80 crore to put together the finest team they can from players throughout the globe, including international players and Indian players with and without caps.

While teams are not required to use all of their Rs 80 crore, the rules require that at least 75% (Rs 60 crore) be given to the players. The top five players might receive between 30 and 40 percent of a franchise’s budget.

The maximum number of foreign players who can be included in an IPL squad is eight, and only four of those players are permitted to play at once.

BASE PRICE AUCTION 2024

The 85 Crores budget allotted to each of the 10 teams allows them to assemble a roster of no more than 25 players. The team is given the chance to keep any players they would like from the prior session before the auction actually starts.

After the retention process is over, the remaining budget is used to purchase items during the auction. The starting bid for a player in the IPL is made at the lowest price, which is called the base price.

No Player may be bought or sold for less. As long as it is greater than INR 10 Lakhs and less than INR 2 Crore, players are free to choose their own basic pricing range.

Uncapped Indian players set base prices that are comparatively lower than those established by capped and overseas players, who typically set prices closer to the ceiling.

There are 292 IPL players available at the time of the auction, and each of them has established a basic price.

The “Right to Match” Cards, which were introduced in 2018, make the procedure even more difficult.

This enables a player’s former team to match any successful offer made for a player who has recently been released. Some teams may have released a player with the purpose to sign him back using a “Right to Match” Card for a lower cost.
