IPL 2023 Updates: We well know the mini auction of IPL 2023 going to take place on 23rd December in Kochi. Due to the Christmas festival just two days later from auction date, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been requested to go ahead with this IPL auction.
The IPL 2023 has increase purse amount, total amount up for auction this year will be Rs 95 crore, an increase of Rs 5 crore over last year, which means that each team will have at least Rs 5 crore in reserves initially. If a franchise releases or trades in its players, the purse can go up even more.
Most of the IPL franchises have foreign players and staff, which makes it doubtful that they will participate in the auction. Due to the rescheduling of the IPL 2023 auction, the service of all the key foreign players in all the franchises will not be interrupted. It is still not sure how The Board of Control for Cricket in India will proceed with the request.
