Plan- B for IPL cash-rich league.
After rising the darkness of COVID-19 mixed variant in India once again Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing the plans for shifting the huge tournament, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 in other country. As per the reports that the Indian Premier League 2022, scheduled to take place in April, might move out of the country.
If the pandemic of COVID-19 is brought under control by the state government, then the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 15 will be held in India, strictly following the terms and conditions of Covid-19.
Although the Indian board had shifted the IPL to UAE for the last few seasons after the COVID-19 pandemic, now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking for another option.
BCCI Said
“We can’t be dependent on UAE all the time so we decided to explore more options, South Africa’s time difference also works out well for the players,”.
While BCCI looking for another Venue selection for IPL 2022 suggested that Sri Lanka is also part of Plan B for BCCI to host the cash-rich league. But it is the arrangement for the on going Test series in South Africa that has placed the BCCI.
“The place where the team was staying for the second Test is spread over several acres. There were walking tracks and even a pond on the property and that has made things easier for the players who for the last couple of years or so have been confined to their rooms on several overseas tours,”.
During the elections in India on 2009, South Africa had successfully hosted the IPL. This is also a great option especially for BCCI.
After increase two new teams the Indian Premier League (IPL), IPL 2022 will be the longest ever season of the cash-rich league with total of 10 teams taking part in the competition.
Before, Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed that the IPL 2022 auction would be held in Bengaluru on 12th and 13th February.
