The TATA IPL 2022 is off the mark with a bang. Game after game is turning out to be a nail-biting fiasco. The IPL season was introduced with a motto of nurturing new, local talent. This tournament has over the years given us many gems. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Sanju Samson are all a product of this tournament. Who are the youngsters who have massively impressed the cricket community in the TATA IPL 2022 Season? Here’s an in-depth look:

1) Ayush Badoni has Impressed in the TATA IPL 2022 Season:

Ayush Badoni has been mighty impressive in the limited number of opportunities that he has got. Ayush is probably the only uncapped batter who has impressed the cricket community even after batting lower down the order. The confidence that this short-lad from Delhi brings is something amazing. Ayush is the true “BABY AB” as described by the internet. He has shown signs of his 360-degree hitting. Ayush is batting at a strike rate of 150+ and has amassed 105 runs in 5 games. His innings have been short but impactful. Lucknow Super Giants are nurturing a pocket-size dynamo.

2) N Tilak Varma Plays for MI in the TATA IPL 2022 Season:

Namboori Tilak Varma was the most talked-about uncapped player at the beginning of the tournament. The skill level of Tilak Varma has truly justified the buzz around his name. Tilak bats at a strike rate of 147 and averages 34. These numbers are exceptional for an uncapped batter. Tilak is left-handed and gives the added dimension to the Mumbai line-up. The campaign of the Mumbai Indians has not started on track with them losing 5 out of 5 games but the silver lining is the presence of Tilak Varma. He had the guts to reverse sweep Ravi Ashwin for a six! Now that speaks volumes of his confidence.

3) Jitesh Sharma:

The wicket-keeper of the Punjab Kings is another uncapped player named Jitesh Sharma. Jitesh has been in the Indian domestic circuit for 7 to 8 years. So, with that regard, Jitesh is very experienced. The previous coach of the Punjab Kings, Wasim Jaffer rates Jitesh very highly. Jitesh has shown signs of being a good finisher. His innings against the Mumbai Indians showed his maturity and skillset. Jitesh is known for hitting long sixes to the spinners and that is exactly what has been witnessed on the field.

4) Dewald Brevis:

Dewald Brevis and his over against Rahul Chahar was a treat to watch. Brevis was hyped to be the “Next De Villiers” He did not get the initial few games but of the limited opportunities which he has got Dewald has excelled. His timing is supreme. Dewald was exceptional in the recently concluded U-19 World Cup which was won by India. Brevis has good footwork and his game against spin is something that we need to talk about. There can be a few loopholes like his skills to play the short ball but that can be worked upon. His 29 runs over will keep giving Rahul Chahar sleepless nights.

5) Shubman Gill has impressed in TATA IPL 2022:

Shubman Gill, the Gabba Hero, is back! After having a decent run with the Kolkata Knight Riders, Shubman Gill has spear-headed the Gujarat Titans’ batting. Gill has always had the potential and has shown signs of it too. But a very grand IPL season was due for this batter from Fazilka. His stint with the Gujarat Titans has started on a positive note. He slammed two of his career-best scores for the Titans. With the kind of form that Shubman has shown, he can certainly be a top contender for the orange cap. He is batting with an average over 50 and a strike rate near 145.
