IPL 2024 Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans Match Highlights and Player of the Match: In the 24th match of the Indian Premier League 2024, the Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Tatins won a thrilling match by 3 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The match, an exciting display of cricket, showcased the depth and resilience of both teams.
Batting first, they posted a strong score of 196-3 in their 20 overs. The innings began with a brilliant unbeaten 68 from captain Sanju Samson, who, along with Riyan Parag’s explosive 76 off 48 balls, took the Royals to a competitive score.
The partnership between the two was crucial after the early dismissals of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, who could not convert their starts into big scores. The innings were characterized by aggressive batting, with Rajasthan capitalizing on the latter half of their innings to set a challenging target for the Titans.
The Gujarat Titans bowlers had a mixed performance, with Rashid Khan performing brilliantly, taking the crucial wicket of Jos Buttler, and maintaining an economical rate. However, other bowlers struggled to contain the Royals batsmen, especially during the death overs.
In reply, the Gujarat Titans showcased their batting and achieved the target by scoring 199-7 runs in 20 overs. While chasing the target, Shubman Gill played a brilliant inning of 72 runs in 44 balls, which set the tone for the Titans.
At the top of the order, Sai Sudarshan also contributed 35 runs, which was very helpful. But in the end, Rashid Khan’s flawless 24 from 14 balls made sure Gujarat won in a close game.
The Rajasthan Royals bowlers, led by Kuldeep Sen and Yuzvendra Chahal, kept the match competitive by taking important wickets at various stages. However, Gujarat’s depth in their batting lineup and strategic run-chasing saw them through in a close contest.

He said ” To be honest, it is very hard to speak after such a match. The Skipper has the hardest job to speak after losing the game and to tell where we lost is tough. Maybe after a few hours, I can figure out and tell what went wrong. You have to give credit to the Titans for the way they batted, bowled and fielded. We will learn from this and move on.”
Gujarat Titans Captain Shubman Gill:
He said “We were targetting around 45 in 3 overs and it is very much gettable which was the mindset at that time. Mathematically both batters needed to hit 22 off 9 balls and that’s how the thinking goes and if one batter goes berserk that will do it for us. I would have loved to finish the match, especially after spending time in the middle, but very happy with Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan for finishing the job for us. Winning the ball off the last ball is always a great feeling.”

Rashid Khan: ” Winning the match is more pleasing for me. Happy that I landed the ball where I wanted today and that gave me energy with the bat as well maybe. I haven’t bowled that much in the last few months after the surgery and I just lost a bit of grip on the ball I had a good session after the last game and it helped me to get back to my best.”
