IPL 2024 Points Table: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the match no.51 of TATA IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians (MI) by 24 runs at Wankhede Stadium. After Winning the match, KKR moves closer to the IPL 2024 Playoffs as they have occupied 2nd position in the IPL 2024 Points Table with 14 points. Kolkata Knight Riders have played a total of ten matches so far in the tournament and they have won seven games therefore KKR have 14 points and an excellent NRR of +1.098 in the IPL Points Table.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batted first and their top order collapsed against the string bowling unit of Mumbai Indians but Venkatesh Iyer and Manish Pandey made a crucial partnership of 83 runs for the 6th wicket and led KKR in good position. Venkatesh Iyer played a fantastic inning of 70 runs in 52 balls however Manish Pandey scored 42 runs in 31 balls.
But, the KKR bowlers did an excellent job in the match especially the spinners, Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine took two wickets each whereas Mitchell Starc took fours wickets but he failed to contribute with the bat. Overall, KKR has dominated most of the game in MI’s home ground and won a crucial match.
Mumbai Indians (MI) could have utilized Jasprit Bumrah quite better in this match after getting a wonderful start in the match as KKR was at 57/5 in the first powerplay. MI’s journey in this tournament now come to an end as they lost eight matches and now, they will be just playing to complete the remaining games in the league stage.
