The Mumbai Indians need a good spinner. A leg spinner to be precise. So, they are expected to either bring out a new sensation that they bring out every year or they will be bidding for Zampa or Adil Rashid. As an avid fan, I am excited to see what Mumbai has in store for the cricket community.
In 2010 they bought Pollard, in 2013 they bought Bumrah, in 2015 Hardik Pandya was bought, and in 2021 they bought Jansen. Apart from that, they can also bid for one of the top all-rounders as they want to fill the void of Kieron Pollard. They also need pacers. But there aren’t many good names in that category and hence Sam Curran can be a big target for them.

Dwayne Bravo will miss out so the Chennai Super Kings need a good death bowler. These signs point out to Chris Jordan who has previously played for them. They also need a good spinner. They have Teekshana but a leg spinner is a must. They tried Prashant Solanki last time but he wasn’t very effective. So, they will also go after Zampa and Rashid. But they might also pick Amit Mishra who is an experienced campaigner in the IPL 2023 Auction.
Players Likely To be Targeted by the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023 Auction:
7.05 Crores as Purse, 11 Slots, 3 Overseas Slots
The Kolkata Knight Riders have let go of Sheldon Jackson and Ajinkya Rahane. They have to open the innings with an Indian batter. Mayank Agarwal can be their top priority. Also, if they target Mayank, they will not have much money left. So, it can be a smart move to go for Harry Brook or Tom Banton too in the TATA IPL 2023 Auction.
Players Likely To be Targeted by the Lucknow Super Giants:
23.5 Crores as Purse, 10 Slots, 4 Overseas Slots.
The Lucknow Super Giants lack a top-order batter, a spinner, and a finisher. They can go for Zampa as they have that amount of money. They can also go for Piyush Chawla. The top-order and finisher options include Rilee Rossouw and Henrich Klaassen. The Indian finishing options like Sarfaraz Khan can also be thought of. After that, Cameron Green or Sam Curran can also be a primary target.
Players Likely To be Targeted by the Rajasthan Royals:
13.2 Crores as Purse, 9 Slots, 4 Overseas Slots.
The Rajasthan Royals are going to go for a middle-order batter. Rilee Rossouw fits the bill. But the RR side doesn’t have that purse left to go for him. They will also have to go for players who might go under the scanner and they need to try to make a steal. Will Jacks is a good option. Maybe they can go back for RVDD or Daryl Mitchell.
