India Vs Sri Lanka T20I Match Update: Sanju Samson ruled out of Sri Lanka t20 series due to injury : Indian cricket team’s young wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson has been ruled out of the remaining two T20 matches in the ongoing match against Sri Lanka.

Samson injured his knee while fielding during the first T20I match. He was taken for a scan after the injury. After the scans, he was advised rest and rehabilitation by the doctors, due to which he was ruled out of the next two matches of the T20I series.

Sanju Samson was fielding near the boundary rope when he tried to dive and pull off a boundary but his left knee got stuck in the ground. The wicket-keeper batsman did not travel with the team to Pune and remained in Mumbai for the scans.

The BCCI selectors have named uncapped wicket-keeper batsman Jitesh Sharma in his place. Jitesh Sharma debut for the Punjab Kings in 2022 IPL, scoring 234 runs in the lower middle-order role at a strike rate of 163.64. The 29-year-old hard-hitting batsman has played 76 T20s in total and has a career strike rate of close to 150.
