IND vs SA: A Huge Blow for South Africa as Star Pacer Ruled out of 2nd Test Due to Injury | India vs South Africa Test Series 2023: Ahead of 2nd Test Match, South African Pacer Gerald Coetzee ruled out of the upcoming test match against India, which will be played at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, South Africa. Coetzee’s replacement is yet to be announced by the South African Cricket Board.

Gerald Coetzee is suffering from pelvic inflammation after the first test match against India at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion. South Africa won the first test match of this two-match test series against India by an inning and 32 runs as they played phenomenal cricket with bat and ball in the first test match.

After Defeating the Indian Team, South Africa occupied the top position in the ICC World Test Championship Points Table 2023-2025 with a PCT of 100.00%. Previously, India was present in the first spot but now, they slipped to the sixth position with a PCT of 38.89% in the ICC WTC Points Table 2023-25.

Temba Bavuma will also not be available in the 2nd test, Dean Elgar will lead the side:

During the first test match, South African Skipper Temba Bavuma was injured and now, he is suffering from a left hamstring injury hence he isn’t available for the second test match against India. Dean Elgar will be leading the side in the upcoming test match at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.

Lungi Ngidi is expected to return to the Playing XI in the second test, he will be playing in the place of injured Gerald Coetzee. The South African Bowling Attack was robust in the first test match and is expected to be the same in the second test match in Cape Town despite Coetzee not being available in the 2nd test match.
