ICC CWC Qualifiers 2023 Super Six Points Table [July 4] Updated After ZIM vs SCO ODI Match: On July 4, Scotland defeated the host nation Zimbabwe by 31 runs at Queens Sports Club. The Player of the Match was Chris Sole.
The Match No.28 was between Zimbabwe and Scotland, In which Scotland played fantastically and won the important match. Scotland came to bat first, and they had a decent start, but in the middle overs, they lost a couple of wickets. Michael Leask showed nice intent and scored 48 runs in 34 balls.
Scotland Skipper Richie Berrington again got out on a low score, but somehow, they made 234 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of wickets in 50 overs. From Zimbabwe Side, Sean Williams took three wickets, whereas Tendai Chatara took two wickets.
Zimbabwe failed to chase the target of 235 runs in the 50 overs, and now, they got eliminated from the World Cup 2023 race. The tournament’s Leading run-scorer, Sean Williams, failed to score big in the do-or-die match.
Ryan Burl fought well but unfortunately couldn’t lead his team to victory; he scored 83 runs in 84 balls and took his team to last, but one wrong shot, and he went into the pavilion. Sikandar Raza scored 34 runs in 40 balls but failed to take wickets. From Scotland Side, Chris Sole took three wickets, whereas Brandon McMullen and Michael Leask took two wickets each.
In the Match No.29, Ireland Defeated Nepal in the close encounter by two wickets. The Player of the Match was Curtis Campher, who scored 62 runs and took one wicket as well.
While batting first, Nepal scored 268 runs in the 50 overs, and Ireland Chased the target in 49.2 overs with the loss of eight wickets. Harry Tector and Curtis Campher scored 60 and 62 runs, respectively.
