ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
With the IPL promoting fresher faces, a spot in the Indian Team is always under scrutiny.

The Indian cricket team is always a matter of discussion. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will take place in India, and the Indian Cricket Team will be keen on winning this tournament. The team hasn’t won any significant ICC trophies since the 2013 Champions Trophy, and now it’s about time to end this dry spell. “Good batters win you matches, but good bowlers win you tournaments.” Based on these lines, the Indian Cricket Team will be looking to form a formidable fast-bowling lineup. Here is a look at the top 5 bowlers who can go (Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar are considered all-rounders):

1) Jasprit Bumrah will be a part of the Indian Cricket Team at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023:

Bumrah is out of action due to injury. He has a strained back which he was dealing with since the India Tour of England 2022. He was fast-tracked to the squad for the Asia Cup 2022 but his injury wasn’t fully recovered and he strained his back once again. He had to miss out on the ICC T20 World Cup due to this mismanagement. But it is more than certain that India’s best bowler will be an integral part of the Indian team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

2) Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be a part of the Indian Cricket Team at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023:

The “King of the powerplay” will be an integral part of the Indian team for the 2023 campaign. If we are to talk about a bowler who is exceptional in the first 10 overs and can get the job done in the last few as well, it has to be Bhuvi. He has made star players like Jason Roy and Aaron Finch his bunnies. His in-swinger bothers Jos Butler too. He doesn’t have an unreal pace but he is an ace with a swing. Bhuvi will lead India’s pace attack at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

3) Mohammed Siraj might be a part of the Indian Cricket Team at the Cricket World Cup 2023:

A strong “hit-the-deck” bowler is always required. The competition will be between Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. Siraj has transitioned into an exceptional ODI bowler. He has been a part of almost every ODI series that India played in 2022. In the absence of Bumrah, he took wickets in the powerplay too. He was pivotal in the West Indies and Zimbabwe as well. In 2022 he has been India’s best ODI bowler with 22 wickets in 14 matches. He might just make it to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

4) Prasidh Krishan might be a part of the Indian Cricket Team at the Cricket World Cup 2023:

Prasidh Krishna was an integral part of India’s plan for the ODI World Cup 2023. He was exclusively picked for the ODI team. He was moving with the national team for every series and every format but was picked exclusively for ODIs and that speaks a lot about the plan that the management had for him. But he too is out with injury. His pace is his true asset. When we add to it the line that he manages to hit, it becomes an added advantage.

He has picked 25 wickets in the 14 matches that he has played so far. Skiddy will be keen on recovering to be in the scheme of things of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Honorable Mentions:

1) Arshdeep Singh

2) Kuldeep Sen

3) Umran Malik

5) Mohammed Shami might be a part of the Indian Cricket Team at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023:

Mohammed Shami is always in India’s plan. And even if he is not, he finds a way to be a part of the scheme of things. He just manages to impress with every performance of his. He is decently quick. He clocks at about 140 kmph with every delivery. He also has a lot of experience. Add to it the swing he brings out with the old ball and you get a complete package.
