Rashid Khan spun his magic against CSK. IMG SRC: GT.

The first ball of the match and the TATA IPL 2023 was bowled by Mohammed Shami while Ruturaj Gaikwad was on strike. Shami got the early breakthrough for the Gujarat Titans when he sent back the Devon Conway with an elite in-swinger. Chennai was stranded at 14-1. Further Moeen Ali walked out to bat and carried the proceeding s with Gaikwad.

Gaikwad was the star of the innings. While the other batters struggled to get 25+ runs, he notched up an exquisite 92. He showed his range of shots. But his pull-shot to Joshua Little was the “shot of the day”. His lofted cover drive against a slower one bowled by Yash Dayal was eye-pleasing. All the other batters hovered around. Ben Stokes, Ambati Rayudu, Ali, and Dube. But no one could get a decent score. MS walked in to bat with 14 balls to spare. He hit a 6 and a 4 off Joshua Little’s 20th over. It was “Vintage Dhoni”.

CSK VS GT Highlights: 2nd Innings:

Rajvardhan Hangargekar CSK VS GT
Rajvardhan Hagargekar showe why there was a murmur around his name last season. He was great for CSK.IMG SRC: BCCI.

The CSK VS GT second innings saw Shubman Gill star with the bat. Wriddhiman Saha and Gill opened the batting for GT. Saha did what he does best. He went to tonk the ball. He was quick to act and hit the ball as hard as possible. But Rajvardhan Hangargekar had the last laugh and he dismissed Saha for 25 runs. Gujarat was at 37-1 when Sai Sudarshan came into bat. Shubman Gill was looking solid at the other end.

Shubman Gill CSK VS GT

Sudarshan and Gill built a partnership with Shubman having a more active role. They notched up a 50+ partnership in no time before Sudarshan was dismissed by Hangargekar for 22. Hardik and Vijay Shankar also came out to bat. Hardik had a poor outing as he was knocked over by the spin of Ravindra Jadeja. Vijay Shankar showed responsibility and scored 27 crucial runs with a much-required 6 at a crucial time in the game. But it was Rashid Khan’s 10 runs of the 19th over that flipped the game in favor of GT. Rahul Tewatia gave the finishing touches and took the Gujarat Titans home in the CSK VS GT game.

CSK VS GT: Tushar Deshpande is First Ever “Impact Player”:

Tushar Deshpande was bought on the field in the second innings of the CSK VS GT game. He was hence crowned as the first-ever “Impact player” in the history of the TATA IPL. Ambati Rayudu was taken off the field as he doesn’t bowl. So, Tushar Deshpande was bought on as the additional bowler.

Sai Sudarshan was the second “Impact Player”. But it was a forced change as Kane Williamson injured himself while fielding. He injured himself in the 13th over of the first innings. He landed clumsily on his right foot and was seen in immense pain.
