Breaking!! No New Head Coach in Indian Team, BCCI Announces Contract Extension for Head Coach Rahul Dravid and Support Staff: Today, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the extension of the contract for support staff and now, Rahul Dravid will continue as Head Coach of the Indian Team. The extension will see Rahul Dravid continue his role at least till the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024.

Rahul Dravid was appointed as Head Coach of India in November 2021, and under his leadership, Team India has achieved many milestones, including the Asia Cup 2023 Trophy and getting into the Final of two ICC Tournaments, but unfortunately, India failed to win the tournament.

With Head Coach Rahul Dravid, the entire support staff was also retained, including batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach Abhishek Nayar, and physiotherapist Nitin Patel.

The BCCI is confident that the head coach, Rahul Dravid, and other support staff have done well in the past and are expected to do the same in the upcoming months. Under their guidance, Team India will continue to be one of the most successful TeamsTeam in the World.

Since Rahul Dravid took the position of head coach of the Indian Team, they have performed phenomenally in all the tournaments. India also occupied the top position in the ICC Men’s Team Ranking in all formats, which currently makes them the most robust Team in the cricket world.

Jay Shah on extension of contact with Head Coach Rahul Dravid:

The BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, said, “We are delighted to extend Rahul Dravid’s contract as Head Coach of the Indian Team with other support staff. Rahul has done an exceptional job for this Team in his time, and we are happy and confident that he will continue to lead the Indian Team to success in the future.”

Adding more Jay Shah said, “The Support Staff also played a crucial role in the Team’s success throughout these two years. We are delighted to retain them and continue to build on the strong foundation that has been made.”

As per the reports, Before Extending the contract with Rahul Dravid, BCCI also approached Ashish Nehra to become the new head coach of the Indian Team, but he denied the offer. VVS Laxman was also on the list, but BCCI wants to continue with Rahul Dravid as he has done a superb job under his tenure.
