The Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 will begin shortly. It is one of the most exciting series in all of cricket. Some pundits have even tagged this series as better than the Ashes. A lot of people will disagree, but I agree that India VS Australia is much more exciting. The Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 has many challenges in store for the Indian cricket team as well as for the Australian cricket team. There are three major threats to the Indian cricket team. an explosive batter in the middle order, a pacer, and a spinner. Here is a look at all three threats for India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy:

There could be many other batters on this list but I have chosen to add Travis Head. The reason is the fact that he scores quick runs and scores big runs too. With him in the team, it will be very difficult for India to attack the opposition as he will cash in on every loose ball. He has improved his red-ball game four-folds. Also, he is a lesser-known name so there is a chance that the Indians may not prepare for him. He can come out with the “out of syllabus” question in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. The captain of the opposition is always a threat. We have seen the other foreign pacers fail in India but that seems to have had limited effect on Pat Cummins. The bloke just runs in and takes wickets for fun. He has a decent average in India as well, where the general trend is that the spinners dominate while the pacers struggle. He has a knack for bowling at a single spot. He keeps hitting the right spot again and again. Cummins is relatively quicker and his fitness ensures that the pace doesn’t go down.
Nathan Lyon is a Threat to the Indian Cricket Team:
Nathan Lyon has always been a threat to the Indian cricket team. Whether the match is in Australia or it is in India, this bloke has always taken wickets. He is the most successful bowler of the Australian quartet against India. He has taken 94 wickets in 22 matches against India at an average of 34.75. HE effectively neutralizes the left-handed batters and ensures that it is tough for the Indian middle order. He has also taken the most precious wicket of Virat Kohli on multiple occasions. It is unfortunate that will not see the Pant VS Lyon contest this time around.
