The U19 Women’s T20 World Cup has come to an end. The Indian U19 Women’s Cricket Team has managed to win this title. It was under the leadership of Shefali Verma that the team got its hands on this title. In the final, the team easily defeated the formidable England team. They wrapped up the English women at 68 in 17 overs and then chased down the score to announce themselves as winners. Here is a quick look at this journey.

After a 7-game long tournament, the Indian U19 Women’s team has been crowned champions in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. The tournament was held in South Africa. There were 16 teams that participated and 12 were chosen in the super 12 stages. Further, there was a knock-out stage and the Indian women just lost 1 out of their 7 long games. U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Final:
The final was an outright win for the Indian women. The star with the ball was Titas Sadhu. She bowled at an unreal economy of 1.5 runs an over and bagged two wickets to break the backbone of the English batting. Her spell along with Archana Devi did the job for the Indian team in the first 10 overs of the game itself. It was a team performance by all the bowlers to wrap the opposition up for a meager 68 runs in 17.1 overs.
When it came to batting, the women chased this score down in 14 overs. The contributions of Soumya Tiwari who scored 24 runs on 37 balls, and Gogandi Trisha who scored 24 runs on 29 balls were invaluable. Titas Sandhu was named player of the match in the final of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
