In the latest MRF Tires ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings update, there have been significant changes due to the excellent performances of several players.

Mohammed Siraj’s excellent performance in the ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo, when he bowled out the entire Sri Lankan team for just 50 runs, has propelled him to the first position in the MRF Tires ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings.

He accomplished this milestone with a great bowling performance of 6/21. He previously held the No. 1 ranking in March 2023, but was momentarily dethroned by Josh Hazlewood.

Impressive Tournament Stats: During the tournament, Siraj managed to take a total of 10 wickets at an excellent average of 12.2. This remarkable performance enabled him to climb eight places in the latest ranking update.

He left behind famous bowlers like Josh Hazlewood, Trent Boult, Rashid Khan and Mitchell Starc to grab the number 1 spot.

Rise of Afghan spin pair: The Afghan spin pair Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan also saw an improvement in their rankings. Mujeeb Ur Rahman secured the No.

4 position, while Rashid Khan remained at No. 5 in the rankings. These two spinners were the only spinners in the top 10 to experience upward movement.

Keshav Maharaj’s impressive comeback: South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has made good gains in the rankings after his return from injury.

His remarkable performance was instrumental in South Africa’s achievement of becoming the fifth team in history to win a five-match ODI series after losing the first two matches.

Left-arm spinner Maharaj took 4 for 33 in the fifth ODI, taking a total of eight wickets in the series at an average of 16.87, with an economy rate of only 4.07 per over.

As a result, he moved up ten places to 15th in the rankings, a new career high for him.
