Dale Steyn, the South African speedster and one of the all-time great fast bowlers in the modern era of cricket has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. This is said to be the “End of an Era” by most of the cricket community. Cricket and its fans will always be indebted to the service and class performances that Dale Steyn had put forth. His outswingers at an unrealistic, super quick pace were absolutely magical! In the shorter format, Dale’s toe-crushing Yorkers were unplayable.

The formal post for the fans and the followers of cricket was made on Twitter. This post ended Dale’s illustrious international career. He was an integral part of the much-feared South African side which was known for winning away series. In his time for the Proteas, Dale played 93 tests taking 439 wickets, 125 ODIs scalping 196 wickets, and 47 T20Is sending back 64 batsmen.
Just a few bowlers have the ability to create magic from their hands. Dale Steyn was one of them. His rhythmic run-up was one of a kind. So was his action. His aggression, his passion, and his love for the game all were a treat to watch when in full display.

One can never forget the best performances given by Dale. His 7-51 in Nagpur against a legendary India batting lineup is one to cherish. This was the best fast bowling spell ever seen by a pacer on Indian soil. Dale was throwing fireballs during that outing. His ODI best performance came during the 2013 games against Pakistan. Although his team lost that game by 1 run, Dale and his performance were unforgettable. His figures of 6-39 wreaked havoc for the Pakistanis.
