Roger Federer, the crowned king of tennis or one of the greatest tennis players of all time and often regarded as the greatest announced his retirement on the 15th of September 2022. He made this announcement via his social media handles in the form of heartfelt notes. Federer happens to be one of the best to hold the racquet. Roger Federer Announces Retirement via social media: 

The post shared by Roger saw him express gratitude for everyone who has been an integral part of his professional tennis career. He began by thanking the fans in general. Next up he spoke about how life recently has been throwing curve balls at him. He has been dealing with injuries off-late and this is a sign from Federer’s body. With over 1500 games played and with a career spanning 24 years, Roger decided to call it quits.  

Federer made the same announcement on Twitter and Instagram too.

He thanked his better half, Mirka Federer, for being with him through most of his career, through the ups and downs. Further, he had a special mention for his children. He also acknowledged the unmatched contribution of his parents and his sister. Further, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his coaches and his support staff. Later he thanked his opponents but the most important part of the note was where he thanked the fans for making him who he is.  

He also expressed how fortunate he feels to have had the ability to play the game in its full bloom and how without the support of the Swiss Tennis association, it wouldn’t have been possible.
