Saurabh Chaudhary hails from an agricultural background. His father Jagmohan Singh Chaudhary is a sugarcane farmer while his mother Brajesh Devi is a homemaker. Chaudhary has two elder siblings. This includes his elder brother Nitin and sister Sakshi. His family has always supported Saurabh Chaudhary’s love for the sport of shooting. His brother often recalls the fact that Saurabh Chaudhary used to play with plastic guns at a young age. This further translated to him playing “Shoot the balloon” at the funfairs. “Who thought Saurabh will be winning the Asiad gold!”, Nitin said.

Saurabh Chaudhary, as mentioned hails from an agricultural background. He was born on 12th May 2002 in Kalina Village, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Saurabh at the age of 16 doing wonders! However, the footsteps that he had taken to achieve greatness were in his early life. He used to travel 15 km every single day via bus or carts to his sports club. His coach Amit Sheoran, recalls Saurabh as one of the most disciplined and regular kids. The club was run by the Aryangateways foundation and it grooms local players for the international level. All his grooming and foundation for the shooting were done at this sports club itself.

The events that Saurabh Chaudhary participates in are all air pistol-based. The most important event of his is 10m Air Pistol. His second event is the 10m air pistol men’s team. In this Saurabh Chaudhary participates with his Indian teammate Abhishek Verma. The last and one of the most successful events for Saurabh Chaudhary is mixed team 10m air pistol. In this event, he plays with Manu Bhaker, the Indian female representative in the same event.

Saurabh Chaudhary in 2018: –
In 2018, Saurabh won the gold medal in the Youth Olympics Games in Buenos Aires. It was the 10m air pistol. In the ISSF Junior World Championships that year held at Suhl, Saurabh Chaudhary bagged 3 gold medals. One was in the individual 10m Air Pistol, Mixed 10m Air Pistol, and Men’s Team 10m Air Pistol. Further that year in the open age ISSF Shooting World Championship, he won a gold, a silver, and a bronze. Adding a cherry to this amazing year Saurabh also won the Gold Medal at the Asian Championships in Palembang.
Saurabh Chaudhary in 2019: –
In 2019 at the ISSF World Championships in New Delhi, Saurabh Chaudhary won gold in 10m Air Pistol. Further in Munich, he went on to win another Gold. The next events in the lineup were Rio De Janerio, New Delhi, Doha, etc. In these events, Saurabh Chaudhary won 6 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.

The biggest event of Saurabh Chaudary’s career was in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics. Saurabh, unfortunately, couldn’t convert this opportunity into medals. The fall-out was concerning the entire Indian Contingent in Shooting and not just Saurabh Chaudhary. Further, in 2021, Saurabh had a dream run once again. In 2021 he won 5 medals on the global stage. This included 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.
