Legendary and iconic PL team Manchester United have faced a deep crisis in the position of a left wing-back since English defence star Luke Shaw has been ruled out due to injury.

Luke Shaw, after being ruled out due to a long injury, made his comeback for England during the playoff games of the Euro 2024; however, during the pre-season training, he again sustained a calf injury, which rules him out till the next international break.

Sources from The Sun have revealed that the Manchester management has recognized Fulham and USMNT defender Antonee Robinson as Shaw’s replacement in the long run. The 27-year-old United States footballer might be willing to make it to Old Trafford if his value of £30 million is met by Man U.

He made it to the Premier League for the first time in 2020, and during his playing days at the Craven Cottage, he has established himself as a much more reliable defender and is hence now considered ideal for the left-back position.

The player was also previously linked with clubs like AC Milan, Inter Milan, and also Manchester City.

Other than the Fulham back, they also considered the likes of Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell; however, there was not much advancement due to the clubs not showing major development and also Chilwell’s less efficiency down the flanks, which is necessary for Shaw’s role.

For now, Manchester United have started with Diego Dalot, the defensive midfielder in the role of a left-back, as alongside Shaw, their replacement option Tyrell Malacia has also been ruled out due to injury. Shaw’s hamstring injury caused a major blow to the Red Devils throughout the 2023 season, while now it has resumed from a pre-season of 2024.
