Antonio Conte, the manager of Tottenham Hotspurs has been sacked. Conte has been sacked post the 3-3 draw against Southampton on match day 28. Antonio Conte has been the manager of the Spurs for the past 16 months. But off-late the times have been turbulent for the club. The club has had no trophies to its name in the past few seasons even after having a few great runs. Conte has been the brain-child behind this success but the Spurs management is looking at a fresh start. Julian Nagelsmann, the sacked coach of Bayern Munich is looked upon as a possible replacement, here is an in-depth look:
Antonio Conte Sacked, Cristian Stellini appointed as Interim Replacement:
Tottenham Hotspurs have been on a decent run in the past year. Currently, they are ranked number 4 in the Premier League Table. They are placed just behind Manchester United. Antonio Conte’s contract was expected to end at the end of this season. But he has “mutually agreed” to leave the club. Antonio Conte achieved great success with the Tottenham Hotspurs. Stellini had previously replaced Antonio Conte once when Conte had undergone gallbladder surgery.
Conte released a rant following the draw against Southhampton. He called the players “selfish” and “unprofessional”. This left the Tottenham squad out of favor of Conte. Antonio also said that Tottenham had a trophy drought even after having successful runs because their management insisted on the change of the “manager”, repeatedly.
Julian Nagelsmann Considered as Full-Time Replacement:
After Conte “mutually agreed” to leave the club, the Spurs named Christian Stellini as the “interim coach”. But the Tottenham management is considering Julian Nagelsmann as a good option to replace Antonio Conte. The Hotspurs have 10 games left in the Premier League and they will be keenly eyeing a Champions League spot by finishing in the top 4 of the League.
For this to come to reality, they need a decent manager. Stellini is the correct person for the time being. Nagelsmann parted ways with Bayern Munich last week and is currently on the market. The 35-year-old manager is known for his unique managerial methods and for being a “players manager”.
“We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place. We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our club and amazing, loyal supporters.”, said Daniel Levy, the chairman of the Tottenham Hotspurs.
