Mats Hummels also isn’t at the prime of his career. On his day he can win you a game but the rest of the days look concerning. With the German team being aggressive, they need to have a strong back 4 who can deal effectively with counter attacks.
Opportunities for the German national Team:
The opportunities are for younger players to show what they have in store. Also, an opportunity is waiting for Thomas Muller. Muller is at the far end of his career as claimed by many pundits. But this can be his chance to prove that he still has the fire left in him. He currently might not be in the peak of form but like Hummels, he can win the German team, games single-handedly.
Threats for the German Football Team:
The midfield can be a “Too many cooks spoil the broth” situation. We have earlier seen France struggling because they had multiple strong personalities in the field. Similarly, Germany has many strong players in the mid-field. Kai Havertz is the rising star, Ikay is the proven magician, Reus is bliss on his day, and they still have Joshua Kimmich!
