SLvsIND 3rd ODI: The Indian team that appeared with six major changes in the playing XI for the third ODI match against Sri Lanka saw a debacle in 225 runs. The Lankan bowlers managed to scalp all ten wickets with four over to spare in the Indian innings.
Sanju Samson, Nitish Rana, Rahul Chahar, Krishnappa Gowtham and Chetan Sakariya made their debuts today while Navdeep Saini replaced Deepak Chahar in the playing XI.
The rain-marred match between Sri Lanka and India was reduced to 47 overs per side.
Spinner Akila Dananjaya and Praveen Jayawickrama rattled through the Indian batting unit following the resumption of the match after a short delay due to rain. The duo picked up three-wicket apiece to wrap up the Indian innings in 225 runs. Besides these two, Dushmantha Chameera picked two wickets while Chamika Karunaratne and skipper Dasun Shanaka got one each in their bag.
Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan was the first breakthrough for Sri Lanka as the skipper was sent back in mere 13 runs in the 3rd over of the first innings.

Young Prithvi Shaw and Sanju Samson stitched a good partnership and took India past 100 runs before the fall of the second wicket.
Shaw was sent back by Dasun Shanaka in the 16th over as he fell one short of his well-crafted half-century.
Debutant Sanju Samson looked good, however, fell for 46 runs in as many deliveries.
Dependable batsman Suryakumar Yadav once again got a good start to his innings but was picked up by Akila Dananjaya in the same fashion. He amassed 40 runs in 37 balls with seven boundaries.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya struggled in the island nation and lost his wicket after a good initial boost to his innings. The all-rounder was sent back in 19 runs.
Nitish Rana (7), Krishnappa Gowtham (2), Rahul Chahar (13) and Navdeep Saini (15) were picked up in quick succession by the Lankan bowlers as they wrapped up the visitor’s innings in mere 225 runs.
